Customs 2005-2009

View the customs I've made over the past four years here. If you want to commission me for a custom, please go to the 'links' tab. Thanks and enjoy!

Disclaimer--My Little Pony is (C) 2009 Hasbro, Inc. and none of the pony designs presented here resemble in any way, shape or form existing My Little Ponies as designed by Hasbro.  The ponies here are original pieces made by the artist and are  meant for display purposes only.

2005

'Remember When It Rained' Josh

Josh was my very first custom, made after the talented singer Josh Groban's hit song 'Remember When It Rained' on his album Closer (which is (C) 2009 Josh Groban). He was made from a G3 Piccolo, with a full body repaint in acrylics and his original hair has been dyed to a dark purple shade.

The 'Phantom of the Opera' Set

Having been inspired by the remake of the Broadway show on the big screen, I made 'Phantom' and 'Christine.'  'Phantom' was made from a G3 Starbeam, sporting a full body repaint with acrylics, a partial hair dye, a hand-made mask with Sculpey and a hand-made cape (not shown). 'Christine' was made from a G3 Bowtie, with a symbol and eye repaint, and hair dye.

'Phantom of the Opera' is (C) 2009 Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Winged Wishes

This pegasus was based on a character I created in a story of mine. The pegasus would appear when you least expected it to and if you made a wish in its presence, the wish would come true. It was made in collaboration with Kelli Davis and it has a full hair reroot, hand-made symbol with Sculpey and an eye repaint. Made with a G3 Cloud Climber.

2006

Andrew Strawberry

Andrew was based on another original character of mine, an Irish accented colt who somehow wound up in trouble on every adventure he took. He was made from a G3 Seascape. His hair is original but his body has been repainted with acrylics and his symbol was made with Sculpey. His hoof 'heart' was made into a four-leaf clover.

Waverider

Waverider is still one of my favorite customs. He was made from a G3 Fancy Free. He had a complete body repaint with acrylics, and a full reroot with KatSilk doll hair from RestoreDoll. He even comes with a hand-made surfboard, which he can stand on or pose with. His inspiration came from the sea and from surfers. ;)

Chocolate Starfire

A 'ponysona' of sorts, Chocolate's design just came to me one night. She was initially involved in a slew of adventures with pirates and also with Loveheart, a character designed by ellebbz at the MLP Arena. The pony began life as a G3 Winter Bow, transformed with a full body repaint and full reroot with KatSilk doll hair from RestoreDoll. Her symbol is a shooting star--hence her last name, Starfire.

2007

Safari

Safari the Zebra was made from a G3 Star Surprise, in honor of my graduation with my B.S. in Biology from CSU Long Beach in December 2007. Her symbol was crafted from Floam and her stripes were made with acrylics. Her hair is fully rerooted with KatSilk doll hair from RestoreDoll. She was featured on the daily DeviantArt news page in 2007.

Tidepool Treasure

Another ocean-themed pony, I made Tidepool Treasure to keep Waverider company. ;)   She was made from a G3 Tulip Treasure (I think that is the name! She was purple to begin with) and she has a full body repaint with acrylics as well as a full reroot with Katsilk doll hair from RestoreDoll.

2008

Hazel

Hazel was a commission for my friend Kelli Davis, based on an old design of hers. A provided baby G1 was given a full repaint in acrylics and reroot  with left-over real MLP hair clippings, as well as a new horn. Her symbol is a hazelnut.

Serena the Amazon Queen

Serena was a commission for my friend Jessica Bandes, based on an original concept of hers. The G3 bait was repainted with acrylics and rehaired with KatSilk doll hair from RestoreDoll. Her symbols consist of the yin-yang symbol on her non-display side and Jessica's floral logo on her display side. Her wings were hand-crafted with Crayola Model Magic and her horn was provided from another donor G1 pony.

Indy

Indy was inspired by the 67th annual SVP meeting in Austin, TX. He resembles 'Indiana Jones' more than a paleontologist, with his hand-crafted jacket from Crayola Model Magic and his painted hat and whip (neither shown). His symbol is the SVP logo. He was made from a G3 Rainbow Flash and his body/jacket are painted with acrylics. His full reroot was with KatSilk doll hair from RestoreDoll. To this day he is my absolute favorite custom. =)

Morrigan

Morrigan was made for the Mythology Swap at the MLP Arena. My partner, Amanda, chose Morrigan as one of her favorite goddesses she wanted to see in pony form, and I decided it would fit the G3 Scootaloo (whose hat I sacrificed for Indy) bait I had on hand. Her unique colors were made with acrylics, she has a full reroot with KatSilk doll hair from RestoreDoll and her headdress was made with excess wire and gems from Michael's. Her symbol is the raven, which is the bird she transforms into once the spoils of war have been accounted for. She was a lot of fun to make and spurred on many more commissions later in the year.

Sunshiny Daydream

This happy little pegasus was made from a very baity G3. Her name is inspired from the ending of a Steppenwolf song (the lyrics go something like 'sunshiny daydream....wishin' on a could be'). Her symbol is Seascape's old one, and her 'grass' is hand-painted with acrylics. Her hair is Dollyhair's MLP nylon, a new trend for me. She was traded in the MLP Arena for more bait.

Jolly Rancher

Jolly Rancher was a commission requested by badjuju_86 at the MLP Arena for her 22nd birthday. The G3 bait provided was rehaired with Dollyhair's nylon and her Jolly Rancher candy symbols were hand-painted with acrylics. Her eyes were also hand-painted. She is now residing happily in badjuju's herd of customs.

Jupiter the Glam Rocker

Jupiter was yet another commission, this time from another member of the MLP Arena named eraserqueen. She wanted a David Bowie inspired glam rock pony and based on her design, this is what I came up with. The bold colors are acrylics, his hair is Dollyhair nylon and his necklace is handmade. His symbol is a winged pink guitar. He was so fun to make and his mohawk was especially fun to do. =D

 2009

Loveheart

Loveheart was made for ellebbz at the MLP Arena as a commission. Based on her persona on DeviantArt and MLPArena, Loveheart was made with the G3 bait provided. Her wings and horn were sculpted with Crayola Model Magic and painted with acrylics, and her hair was rerooted with Dollyhair nylon in the colors Black Magick and Hot Lips. Her little necklace is hand made. Loveheart now happily resides with her creator in the UK.

The Canadian Mascot

The Canadian Mascot pony was made for drusilla at the MLPArena in exchange for some bait. Her design was made by wingsofmasquerade, also at MLPArena. A G3 Sunny Daze was used as the base pony, her hair fully rerooted with KatSilk doll hair from RestoreDoll, and her eyes/symbol were repainted with acrylics. She is in her new home in Quebec, Canada.

Dark Arts

This ghoulish looking baby unipeg is the original design and concept of darknessunisousboy at the MLPArena. Created from a green G3 baby pony, Dark Arts was fully repainted with acrylics, including his eyes, and his wings and horn were sculpted with Crayola Model Magic. His hair was rerooted with Dollyhair's Black Magick and Venom. He is in his new home in Washington state.

Summerflitter

Summerflitter was once a G1 Seashell in very poor condition. The body of the pony was covered in spots of mildew and she was beginning to develop what collectors call 'pony cancer.'  Fortunately I made her into a brand new pony. She has a full body and eye repaint with acrylics, her hair is rerooted with various colors provided by Dollyhair, and her wings were supplied from a mini butterfly that was once part of a damaged butterfly mobile. The jewel in the center of the wings was an accessory provided in an earlier MLP box (I believe it was for a tiara). She is available for trade; please PM ChocolateStarfire at the MLP Arena if interested.

The Avatar: The Last Airbender Set

Picture
Aang TM, Katara TM, Sokka TM and Zuko TM are featured in this custom pony set dedicated to the Nickelodeon animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. Each pony was made from a G3, painted with acrylics, and rehaired with RestoreDoll's KatSilk saran hair. Each character has a Chinese symbol or tribal symbol associated with their element--Aang's is Chinese for 'harmonious air,' Katara's is Chinese for 'benevolent water,' Sokka's (not shown) is the Water Tribe symbol, and Zuko's is Chinese for 'powerful fire.' Aang's eyes and arrow tattoos glow in the dark! Katara's necklace is handmade. Zuko's eye was crafted using Crayola Model Magic. None are for sale or trade.

Bad Juju

Picture
Bad Juju was a commission made by badjuju_86 at the MLP Arena. The G3 Sunny Daze she provided me was made into her online persona. She has a corset made with Crayola Model Magic and painted with acrylics, her scars and stockings are also painted with acrylics. Her hair is a blend of Dollyhair's nylon in the colors Black Magick, Moonlight, and Sour Grapes. She now resides happily in Bad Juju's growing custom herd. =)

Baby Dinosaur Ponies

Picture
These cute little baby ponies, once a G3 baby and a baby G1 BBE Glory,  represent two of the most beloved dinosaurs, sauropods and ceratopsians (e.g., Apatosaurus and Triceratops). The G3 baby has a partial repaint with acrylics and her hair was from another G3 pony. The G1 baby has a full body repaint with acrylics; her tail is from a G3 pony and her mane is a mix of colors from Dollyhair. The G1's eyes were filled with Crayola Model Magic and repainted with acrylics. These babies may be for sale/trade soon, so keep an eye on this page!

SVP Pony II

Picture
A spare G3 Minty was transformed into this pony, another mascot of SVP. Her symbol is the SVP logo, with the vertebra made out of Crayola Model Magic and handpainted with acrylics. Her hair is a blend of Dollyhair's Satsuma and Black Magick, and her eyes have been repainted with acrylics. She needs a name! Please e-mail me with any suggestions!

Pink Majesty

Picture
This adorable pirate queen began as a G3 Pepperberry. Her eyes and symbol were repainted with acrylics, and her hair is Dollyhair's nylon in the colors Sour Grapes, Venom and Hot Lips. Her beaded locks are made with excess woven fabric string. Her necklace is handmade. She is available for trade; if interested, please e-mail me or PM me at the MLP Arena.

Taoist Zen

Picture
Taoist Zen began life as a baity  G3 Sunny Daze--you can see her 'before' pictures in the custom tutorial on the 'About and How To' tab. She was fully repainted with acrylics. Her colors, red and yellow, are the colors of China.  Her symbol represents the Chinese equivalent of heaven, according to the Tao Te Ching and Chinese art. Her head has the yin-yang symbol, representative of the balance of all things in life-male/female, dark/light, etc. Her hair was completely rerooted with Dollyhair's Black Magick and ResoreDoll's Caddy Red KatSilk. Since she is an extension of my father's side's obsession with Chinese art and culture, she is not available for sale or trade.

Cherries 'n' Chocolate & Strawberries 'n' Creme

Picture
These adorable baby dessert themed twins were made with fakie G1 baby ponies. Their eyes and symbols have been repainted with acrylics, and their hair is from Dollyhair. They have been traded to SerraTsunami at the MLPArena, and are off to their new home!

My Little Mesozoic

Picture
My Little Mesozoic represents the Mesozoic Era, or the Age of Dinosaurs. All three periods in the era, with representative dinosaurs from each, are shown. My Little Mesozoic started out as a G3 Sunny Daze. She was fully repainted with acrylics, and her hair is a blend of KatSilk and Dollyhair. She is not available for sale or trade.
